Advance train tickets for Eid from July 1

On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, the sale of advance train tickets will start from July 1.

Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon said this at a press conference held at Railway Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.

The Railway Minister said that the train tickets for July 5 will be given on July 1. Tickets for July 6 will be given on July 2, tickets for July 7 will be given on July 3. Apart from this, train tickets for July 8 will be given on July 4 and train tickets for July 9 will be given on July 5. 

Nurul Islam Sujan said, “Eid train tickets will be available at six stations in Dhaka, and Joydebpur railway station in Gazipur. Tickets for the entire northern intercity trains will be given from the capital’s Kamalapur railway station. Tickets for the Rajshahi and Khulna trains will be available from the Kamalapur suburban platform.”

He said, “Tickets for all intercity trains bound for Chattogram and Noakhali would be available from Dhaka Airport. Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Dewanganj train tickets will be available at Tejgaon railway station. Mohanganj-bound Mohanganj and Haor Express train tickets will be available at Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station.”

The minister said train tickets for Sylhet and Kishoreganj would be available from Fulbaria railway station in the capital. Apart from this, Eid special train will leave for Panchagarh from Joydebpur railway station in Gazipur. 

Earlier, the railway minister inaugurated the new mobile app named ‘Rail Sheba’. Synesis-Vincent JV, the ticketing partner of Bangladesh Railway has launched the app. From now on, passengers can purchase train tickets by using the mobile app additionally with the e-ticket website of Bangladesh Railway.   

Among others, railway secretary Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Director General Dhirendra Nath Mazumder attended the ceremony as President and Special Guest respectively.
