Admission notice for special quota in Class XI published

Published : 03 Aug 2025 08:58 PM

The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee of Bangladesh has issued a notification regarding admissions under special quota for Class XI students for the academic year 2025–2026.

According to the circular, students who passed the SSC examination with special needs are eligible to apply manually to their respective education boards for admission under the special quota. In addition, children of expatriates, students from the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), and those who have received national or divisional awards for outstanding contributions in sports or cultural activities are also eligible to apply manually under this provision.

The board stated that the minimum GPA requirement may be relaxed for these students during the admission process. However, proper supporting documents must be submitted, and the board will verify all proofs before approving admission.

Manual applications must be submitted directly to the relevant education board, not through the regular online process. Only students who meet the criteria set for special quota admissions will be considered.

The committee has emphasized that this opportunity is meant to ensure access to education for students who have exceptional circumstances or achievements. Colleges will be directed to admit eligible students upon verification and recommendation by the board.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the official website of their respective education boards for detailed instructions, required documents, and deadlines. The education boards will also publish further guidelines on how and where to submit manual applications. The admission process for the general category is currently ongoing across the country, and this special quota system runs parallel to ensure inclusivity in higher secondary education.
