Actress and director Ishrat Nishat has passed away at the age of 56. She died last Sunday (January 19) at 11:30 pm at her sister’s house in Gulshan.
In the death of Ishrat, a shadow of mourning has descended in the theater arena. Many people who are part of the theater industry have lamented on social media on her passing.
Nishat's body was laid in front of Segunbagicha National Theater in the capital on Monday (January 20) from 12pm to 3pm. She was buried at Banani graveyard after the funeral prayer at the central mosque of Dhaka University.
Ishrat Nishat is the daughter of late actress Najma Anwar. She was associated with the theater troupe ‘Desh Natok’.
