Today is the 67th birth anniversary of Sheikh Jamal, son of the Father of the National Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Although this day would be celebrated in high esteem every year, commemorating his life which was cut short by the killers Bangabandhu and his family. However, this year the situation of the country bars from such grandeur. As such, Actor Faruk has decided to celebrate Sheikh Jamal’s birthday in a different manner.
This year Faruk plans to celebrate the day with the unprivileged, providing them with relief materials in this time of crisis. Together with the president of Sheikh Jamal Srity Parishad Jashim Uddin he is going to distribute food items and relief to over 6000 people at his own endeavor.
Faruk is a Member of Parliament elected from Dhaka-17 in the capital. And today he is going to distribute the relief materials in the capital’s Banani area.
Regarding this actor Faruk said, “Sheikh Jamal’s birth anniversary is a special occasion for all. It pains me that we can’t do something grand to celebrate this day. However, with view to the recent situation and the pandemic that is raging all around us I have decided with Jashim to extend a helping hand to those who are most in need at this time.
I along with those who aided in this endeavor have tried to step up and give help to the destitute people. They are suffering the most in these times of need. We have to be aware and help each other. Also, no one should leave their homes unless it is an absolute emergency.”
