Popular film actor Alamgir Hossain has tested positive for Covid-19. He is now receiving treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.
His wife and legendary playback singer Runa Laila confirmed the news. "He is being treated in a local hospital by a team of excellent doctors, nurses and hospital staff who are monitoring him and taking very good care," Runa Laila wrote on her Facebook status.
"He is in excellent spirits and is doing well. Masha'Allah," she said, seeking prayer from all for his early and complete recovery.
The actor born on April 4, 1950, Alamgir has been one of the most acclaimed film actors of Bangladesh. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for a record nine times.
