The government is highly determined to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The country is now enjoying a fast GDP growth and is faring well in several other socio-economic indicators. Particularly of importance is the health sector of the country. There are now thousands of community clinics are providing health service at the doorsteps of the people.

We must ensure sustainable development to achieve the SDGs in time. The government has taken several projects to fulfill the 17-point goal of implementing SDGs within the stipulated timeframe.

We must work altogether in a way that ensures development through saving the environment. At present, our economic growth is one of the exemplary ones across the globe. As a result, we are being capable of spending more money for achieving the SDGs

In the past, Bangladesh has achieved remarkable success in achieving the goals of MDGs, or Millennium Development Goals particularly in poverty alleviation. The MDGs which ran from 2000 to 2015 had 8 goals in which Bangladesh made considerable progress.

Bangladesh several targets of the MDGs like reducing poverty gap ratio, attaining gender parity at primary and secondary education, under-five mortality rate reduction, containing HIV infection with access to antiretroviral drugs, children under five sleeping under insecticide treated bed nets, detection and cure rate of tuberculosis under directly observed treatment short course and others.

The government has now pledged itself to do the same for the SDGs in order to develop the nation by 2041. For Bangladesh to achieve the SDG goals there must be full transparency in all levels of the government and from all departments working together. The people of the nation must hold the authorities accountable in order to reach the targets in time.

According to the government's "SDG Bangladesh Progress Report 2018," the country is doing well in various goals of the SDGs including poverty reduction, gender equality, electricity, sanitation and annual GDP growth. With proper planning and implementation, we can become an exemplary nation in terms of development and growth.
