From awards season red carpets to ready-to-wear runway shows, the world of beauty is having a less-is-more moment.

Nude look does not mean that you have to empty your vanity case and use no make-up at all or it does not mean that you have to be blessed with flawless skin. Nude make up is something that does not show on your face at all and yet enhance your best feature. So girls following are the steps you need to follow to ace the nude makeup look.

Prep the skin

Prepping the skin includes four steps within it. Cleansing, toning, applying serum (which is the food for the skin) and finally moisturising. Many people forget to use a serum and only stick to cleansing, toning and moisturizing; applying a serum is equally important. Apply a skin serum suitable for your skin type to keep it hydrated. Regular application keeps your skin glowing too.

Foundation

This is the toughest part. Too much and you look like a clown. Too little and you look unpolished. It’s a very tricky stuff. The first most important thing to keep in mind is to buy a foundation which is closest to your skin colour. The winner shade will be the one that easily blends with your skin colour. If you have a dry skin, then choose a liquid, stick, or hydrating powder foundation. Liquids and sticks both have a creamy (moisturising) consistency, and hydrating powders are blended with ingredients that deliver moisture to the skin and offer more coverage than regular pressed powders; look for clues like ‘compact makeup’ or ‘foundation’ on the product packaging.

Make-up

Take a medium shade eye-shadow and apply it from your lash line, till the crease of your eyes. You can choose pastels, light copper and bronze. Then take a dark, coffee-brown eye pencil and line very close to the upper eye lash. Then smudge it a bit. Do the same under your eyes as well; from the middle of the lower eye lash to the outer corner. Then smudge it, pulling it inwards. Apply mascara and you’re done with the eyes. Put on a shade of blush on your cheekbones to accentuate it and you’re done.

Lips

Take a neutral shade, the one closest to your lip colour and apply it on your lips. You can even pick up a nude shade. Then, take a lip colour on your finger and stain your lips with it. Then just at the centre of your lips apply gloss. You can easily transform this day-time look into night-time by using a bronzer. For the eyes, take the eye pencil and line the entire eye, extending it o get a winged look.
