ACC summons 9 Health Services employees

Bans foreign travel by NIDCH official

The Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday summoned nine employees of the Health Services for interrogation about their suspected involvement in irregularities. The summoned employees include, Dhaka Medical College secretary Anower Hossain, Gopalganj 250 bed General Hospital administrative officer M Obaidul, Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College store officer M Nazim Uddin, Rangpur Medical College Hospital accountant M Emdadul Haque, Satkhira Medical College lab assistant Abdul Halim, Kurigram General Hospital administrative officer Mustafizur Rahman, Expanded Programme on Immunization accountant Mojibur Rahman Munshi, National Institute of Neuroscience administrative officer Abu Sayem M Emdadul Haque Sadek and DGHS head office’s driver Abdul Malek.

ACC deputy director M Samsul Alam summoned them for interrogation on October 22, 23 and 24 at ACC head office, said ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee. He said that there was an allegation that the Health Services employees accumulated illegal wealth.

The commission official asked the summoned employees to appear for interrogations with copies of their own and their family members’ passports, National Identity Cards and TIN certificates. The ACC also banned foreign travel by National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital administrative officer Munshi Sajjad Hossain.

ACC said that it have information that Munshi Sajjad amassed illegal wealth through tender manipulation and was trying to leave the country.
