Sharif Uddin, a newly sacked ACC official, has been charged with five counts of keeping a bank account without the permission of the court and keeping the invoice of Tk 94 lakh recovered from the RAB operation without depositing it in Bangladesh Bank or state treasury.  Apart from this, six people who had harassed Sharif without getting bribe have also lodged a written complaint with the ACC.  Top officials said that Sharif was sacked from the ACC because of the allegations.

Surveyor Wasim Khan, an employee of the Cox's Bazar land office, was arrested in a RAB operation on 19 February 2020 and Tk 93,60,150 was seized from his house.  Although the seized money was handed over to ACC Deputy Assistant Director Mohammad Sharif Uddin as the investigating officer, it was alleged that it was not deposited in Bangladesh Bank or the state treasury.  The High Court issued a rule on December 13 last year asking it to submit a report within a day.

According to the ACC report, the money is in their vault.  As the seized money was not deposited in Bangladesh Bank or government treasury, an investigation was ordered against ACC official Sharif Uddin.

ACC official Sharif Uddin suspended a bank account in Cox's Bazar without the permission of the court.  When the matter came to the notice of the court, Sharif was accused of abuse of power and misconduct.  ACC officials have also investigated this.

Besides, Sharif was transferred from Chittagong to Patuakhali on June 16 last uear.  But Sharif did not join the workplace and challenged the transfer order.  The ACC sees it as Sharif's fault that he violated the rules of service by sending e-mail after one month and joining physically after another month.

According to the ACC officials, six victims from Chittagong and Cox's Bazar complained in writing that Sharif Uddin had threatened them and harassed them by not receiving bribes as per their demand.

The ACC fired Deputy Assistant Director Mohammad Sharif Uddin, who was working at the Patuakhali District Integrated Office, for violating the service rules On February 16.

However, during his tenure in Chittagong and Cox's Bazar, Sharif's investigations and actions went against influential people.  That is why he was fired from his job.
