The local electronics giant Walton has hit a record growth in sales of air conditioners in the domestic market registering a jump by 181.01 percent during the months of January to May, 2019 against the sales of the corresponding period last year.
The data was disclosed at a programme on “Celebration of Booming Sales of Walton ACs” held at Walton corporate office in the capital on Saturday.
Walton Group’s Executive Directors Eva Rezwana, Amdadul Haque Sarker, SM Zahid Hasan, Humayun Kabir, Md. Tanvir Rahman, Mohammad Rayhan, Deputy Executive Director Shahjada Salim, Operative Director Ishaque Rony, Additional Operative Director Khandker Shahriar Murshid and Deputy Operative Director Mofizur Rahaman attended the programme.
At the event, Walton AC’s Chief Executive Officer Md. Tanvir Rahman said, sales of Walton AC in the domestic market went up sharply with rise of temperature during this season.
To meet the increased demand, he said, Walton is going to set up new production line in its factory with the world’s latest technologies and state-of-the art machineries.
Targeting the export market, Walton has strengthened its research and development (RnD) team for ACs through recruiting highly experienced local and foreign engineers, he said adding: “Thus the product’s quality has been further improved and new models of huge energy-efficient air conditioners are released in the market.”
Walton AC’s Chief Operating Officer Ishaque Rony said that Walton is the first company that has introduced IOT-based smart ACs in Bangladesh, which are controllable using mobile phones.
Users can easily know various information about Walton smart ACs including the monthly electric bill, low or high voltage, overload on compressor etc, he said and noted that every air conditioner of Walton is released in the market after obtaining quality control certification from international standard testing lab NUSDAT-UTS.
Walton is now manufacturing and producing 15 models of 1 ton, 1.5 ton and 2 ton split air conditioners in the local market. Prices of these ACs are between Tk 35,900 and Tk 76,400. Walton is also producing 4 ton and 5 ton cassette and ceiling type ACs.
Walton ACs are not only getting huge response from local customers but also being exported in various countries for the use of latest technology, accurate BTU and assurance of high quality, attractive designs, affordable prices and nationwide sales and service network.
