Abul Hossain receives Bidyashagar Award in India

Renowened educationist, social worker and former communication minister Syed Abul Hossain was conferred the prestigious Bidyashagar Award in Kolkata ecently.Commenting on his feeling after getting the award, he said, “This award will inspire me further to work for spreading education and help establish a beautiful, honest society.”Mentioning that Bidyashagar is his role model, he said, “I feel proud receiving the award on the great humanist’s 200th birth anniversary.”

This may be mentioned that in recognition to Syed Abul Hossain’s contribution to education, especially female education, he was selected for the award.  The event was organised by the Medinipur Bidyashagar University of West Bengal and the crest was handed over to him by the Vice Chancellor  Prof Ronjon Charabarty.In his speech Prof Ranjan said that Syed Hossain set a rare example by establishing many educational institutes. For his contribution the education sector he termed Abul Hossain Bidyashagar of Bangladesh. Abul Hossain has established six colleges, four university colleges and nearly 150 primary schools all with his own money.
