Ekushey Padak winner Abul Hayat is having his 77th birthday today. However, he is not able to make any special arrangements for his birthday.

There are two reasons for this. The first reason is that Taukir Ahmed and Bipasha Hayat (Abul Hayat’s eldest daughter) are out of the country at the moment with their children. The second is that no special arrangements can be made because of Corona epidemic.

On the occasion of his birthday, Abul Hayat said, “Our life is completely ruined because of coronavirus situation. This situation exists not only in Bangladesh but all over the world. Now the situation is such that people have to work at the risk of their lives. There is nothing that can be done, in the meanwhile shooting can be done as consciously as possible.

I pray to God to keep everyone well and healthy. Needless to say, the role of my parents and my wife behind my current position is unique in one word.” Abul Hayat said that last time he made a drama called ‘Time Bank’ in his own composition in December last year.

Meanwhile, the dubbing of the government-sponsored movie ‘Raat Jaga Phul’ has been completed. Abul Hayat also wrote two stage plays in the days of Lockdown.

The two plays are ‘Moddhanno Bhoj Hobe Ki’ and ‘Shodh’. He has also written another short novel including ‘Swapno Bristi’ and ‘Ditiyo Bar’. Abul Hayat said that in the meantime he is also writing a new serial drama. However, he is writing this play for another director. In the meantime, he has also completed the work of a Puja drama under the direction of Chayanika Chowdhury. He finished shooting on Friday.

Abul Hayat performed his first play ‘Tipu Sultan’ on stage when he was in fifth class. His first play on the stage on behalf of Nagarik Natyasampradaya was ‘Buro Shaliker Ghore Ro’ under the direction of Ataur Rahman.

His first drama on TV was ‘Oedipus’ produced by Zia Haider. His first play on stage was ‘Agantuk’ and on TV was ‘Harjit’. The first movie he acted in was Hrithik Kumar Ghatak’s ‘Titas Ekti Nodir Nam’.
