The National University has announced that the Shaheed Abu Sayeed and Mugdho Trust Scholarship will be introduced in all its affiliated colleges across the country. In addition, a permanent memorial plaque will be installed at the university’s campus in Gazipur to honour the two martyrs who died during the mass uprising.

Professor ASM Amanullah, Vice Chancellor of National University, made this announcement while visiting the grave of Shaheed Abu Sayeed in the village of Zafarpur, Pirganj, Rangpur, on Friday. He also met with Abu Sayeed's family during the visit.

According to a press release from the National University, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of Shaheed Abu Sayeed and all martyrs. The vice chancellor prayed for the forgiveness of their souls.

Speaking about Shaheed Abu Sayeed, Professor Amanullah emphasized that the new Bangladesh, built on the sacrifices of martyrs like Abu Sayeed, stands firm in its

commitment to a society free of discrimination. He also presented a financial grant to Shaheed Abu Saeed’s family on behalf of the National University.

Professor Amanullah further revealed that the names of martyrs who lost their lives in the

anti-discrimination student movement will be honored by renaming various college facilities across the country.

This initiative, led by the National University administration, aims to ensure that future generations of Bangladeshis remember the sacrifices of these national heroes.
