The UAE is not currently hiring Bangladeshi workers. Biman Bangladesh Airlines will not carry passengers with work visa to Abu Dhabi. This information was given in a press release sent by Biman on Tuesday (August 18).

It said Abu Dhabi authorities were not currently accepting passengers with work visas. Therefore, it is not possible for Biman Bangladesh Airlines to transport Abu Dhabi-bound passengers with job visas at present.

For the same reason, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate two flights a week instead of six a week until August 31 for passengers interested in returning to Bangladesh from Abu Dhabi. In the future, the airline will resume passenger transport if the Abu Dhabi authorities agree to accept the work visa holders.

Earlier on Monday, six expatriate workers who went on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight could not enter Abu Dhabi and returned home. They have been turned away from Abu Dhabi airport despite having airline tickets, corona negative certificates and visas. The private aviation authority has formed a five-member investigation committee to find out the cause of the incident.

The government also promised to relocate them to Abu Dhabi. But today, the aviation authorities informed that it is not possible to take Abu Dhabi-bound passengers with work visas at present. This created extreme uncertainty for hundreds of Bangladeshi workers returning to Abu Dhabi.
