A student got 12th place in the merit list without attending the admission test for the 2019-20 session`s first year in Comilla University.
This happened in the admission test of B Unit (Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences and Law Faculties). The officials concerned said that if the student was absent, the incident happed due to the negligence of an examiner or a teacher in the center for the purpose of fraud.
According to the central seating arrangements, the examination center is located at Teachers Training College in Kotabari. According to the information available from the seat structure of the center, the name of the admission seeker is Md Sajjatul Islam, son of Md. Rezaul Karim. His roll number is 206050.
Member Secretary of the admission test committee of the 'B' unit Dr. Md. Shamimul Islam said, ‘In the admission test of ‘B’ Unit, a student at that center wrote the roll of a missing student due to mistake or fraud. After the matter came to our notice, we have kept the matter secret among the committee members for the sake of security.’
Convener of the admission test committee of the 'B' unit Prof. Dr. Masuda Kamal said, ‘We are investigating the matter.’ Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof Dr. Emran Kabir Chowdhuri said, ‘Action will be taken in this regard.’
