Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an absconding convict of an arms case from Shibganj in Chapainawabganj district last night.
The arrested convict was identified as Md. Abdur Rahim, 38, son of Md Gazlur Rahman and Laily Begum of Salampur village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
RAB said, Abdur Rahim was an accused of an Arms case and was sentenced to life-term imprisonment by a Chapainawabganj court.
Acting on detective information, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp, conducted a raid at Kansat Palli Bidyut office area at around 8-30 pm yesterday and arrested him.
Later the elite force handed him over to the police of Shibganj thana.
