The body of BUET student Abrar Fahad was buried at the graveyard of his paternal village Raidanga under Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia after the third Namaz-e-Janaza around 10:30 am on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, hundreds of agitated people took out processions with placards at Kushtia and at Kumarkhali village demanding arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers of Abrar.
On Tuesday morning around 5:30 AM, the body of Abrar Fahad was brought through an ambulance to his PTI roadhouse in Kushtia town. Abrar's father Borkat Ullah and his younger brother Abrar Faiyaz accompanied the dead body in the ambulance.
A heart-rending scene was created when the body reached his house as hundreds of his relatives and neighbours burst into tears and thronged at the spot to have a glimpse at the body of Abrar.
The second Namaz-e-Janaza of Abrar was held in front of Al Ikra mosque of the town at 6: 30 AM. Hundreds of people attended the Janaza prayer of Abrar. Later on, around 8:30 AM, the body of Abrar was carried to his village home Raidanga under Kumarkhali upazila which arrived there at 9-00 AM. The third Namaz-e-Janaza of Abrar was held at Raidanga graveyard at 10-00 AM. Rezaul Karim, Vice-Principal of Afsar Uddin Madrasha of Kushtia conducted the Janaza prayer. Several thousand people participated the Janaza prayer.
Soon after the end of Janaza prayer, agitated people carrying placards in their hands took out procession, chanted slogans demanding immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers of Abrar Fahad. Body of Abrar Fahad was buried at Raidange grave yard at around 10-30 AM.
It is learnt, at the midnight of Sunday (6 October) common students and authorities of BUET recovered unconscious body of BUET student Abrar Fahad from the first floor of Sher-e-Bangla Hall and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Around 6-30 AM on Monday, the on duty doctors at the hospital declared Abrar Fahad dead.
