Police in a raid rescued an abducted school girl from Gopalganj district after nineteen days of being abducted from in front of her residence at Deobhog area Fatulla station.
The ninth grader was abducted from in front of her residence on July 9 evening at Deobhog Banglabazar area and victim’s father filed a case with Fatulla police station accusing Morsalin, 24, Anwar Hossain, 52, Zannat, 45, all resident of Bolakoir village under Gopalganj police station and district Gopalganj. All those were tenants in an adjacent house of the victim. A sub-inspector of Fatulla police station Debashis Kundo conducted a raid at Bolakoir village of Gopalganj Sadar police station on July 27 night rescued the abducted victim and produced her before the senior judicial magistrate court here on July 28.
The police team failed to arrest the prime accused Morsalin.
The court, after recording the victim's statement, heard the plea of victim’s father and passed an order to send the victim woman, child and adolescent safe home at Gazipur.
Victim is not an adult but she was forcibly married off, she stated to the police, physicians before medical check-up and to the court, concerned sources confirmed.
According to the court documents it was found that the victim’s birth date was on August 10, 2007 and her age reached 13 years, 11 months and 18 days till 28 July of this year.
Petitioner told this correspondent that soon after the incident he submitted a complaint to police but did not pay heed to the matter. Police recorded the complaint as FIR after three days on July 11. If the police took emergency steps my daughter was able to be rescued within a short time of the incident, he added.
Abducted girl was a student of class nine of a local High school and she did not use any cell phone, petitioner added.
Officer-in-Charge of Fatulla model police station Rokibuzzaman said that sufficient effort was engaged and the victim had already been rescued and the other accused would be booked very soon.
