Abahani, Russel, Saif win respective matches of TVS Premier League

Abahani Limited in their campaign to recover the first leg deficit, just escaped with full three points defeating  Bangladsh Police FC by 2-1 after coming from a goal down in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football on Saturday at the Sylhet District Stadium.

In the day’s others matches, Saif Sporting Club defeated Rahmtagnj MFS by 4-2 at the Bir Seshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium, Munshuganj while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra had a great sigh after a 2-1 win over Chittagong Abahani Limited at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium Cumilla. 

However, the sixth times champions of the league Abahani Limited, who have already dropped seven points in the first leg, every match of the second leg turned into a final for them and have no scope to lose points.

In a bid to regian the title Abahani finished the first leg on second position with four points behind to the table toppers Bashundhara Kings after winning seven matches, drew four and suffered a defeat.    

In a must win position in every match, the Sky-Blue managed the three valuable points riding on double strike from Jewel Rana when in the first leg against the Bangladesh Police FC they just escaped narrowly with one point after the Brazilian striker Dorielton salvaged with a dying minute equalizer after the former champions trailing by a 0-1 goal up to 89th minutes.  

On the day also Police FC stunned Abahani with taking lead on 17th minute through Al Amin but Jewel Rana leveled the margin five minutes later whent the youngster also scored the winning goal on 75th minute to rescue Abahani (2-1). 

Saif Sporting Club riding on a double from Emeka Oghbugh defeated Rahmatganj MFS by 4-2.

By virtue winning the match Saif SC made their tally 22 from 13 matches.

Apart from Oghbugh two goals, Emery Bayisenge and Mfon Udoh scored a piece for Saif Sporting when Enamul Islam and Khondokar Ashraful Islam reduced one each for Rahmatganj. 

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, who struggled much in the first leg with finishing on 10th out of 12 teams, won second successive match after defeating Chittagong Abahani Limited. 

After winning the importing match Russel just had a great sigh when they climed on eight position just serviving from regelation zone.
