Abahani Limited are not bring Spanish coach Mario Rivori, who was supposed to join the team for this season as their head coach.
Abahani club was vandalised by a group of miscreants following the Awami League Government fall and in this awkward situation they are not at all in a position to appoint a foreign coach, as they had to cancel their plan to bring Mario Rivori.
Abahani already detailed the all about the club’s condition to Mario Rivori when the Spanish coach also observed the recent situation in Bangladesh in the international media.
The miscreants, destroyed the furniture, burned the portrait of the founder of the club, Sheikh Kamal, looted all the trophies, the club won in the international and domestic tournaments.
Club’s chairman Salman F Rahman has been arrested, director in-charge Kazi Nabil Ahmed is out of scene. Other officials are also not available to perform the club’s activities.
In this difficult condition, Abahani will appoint a local coach for upcoming season.
Some of the Abahani officials believe that the coach could realise the current situation.
Meanwhile, Abahani completed registration of 22 footballers and will recruit some others, when the players’ registration deadline has been extended for three days and it end today.
