After losing 3 wickets quickly for chasing 151 runs, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mosaddek Hossain's half-centuries helped Abahani Limited to win by 7 wickets against Gazi Group in Dhaka Premier League T20. Despite stumbling in the last match, Mushfiqur-Mosaddeq's century partnership has returned to the winning streak. Abahani came in second place with 8 points with this victory.
Gazi Group scored 150 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to Mahedi Hasan's 43 and Soumya Sarkar’s 67 runs. Gazi took 3 wickets in 46 runs and put Abahani to a tough position but Mushfiqur and Mosaddeq took the helm. Abahani won easily with their hundred run partnership, scoring 153 runs for 3 wickets in 18 overs.
Both of them got half centuries in the last two balls of the winning over. Mosaddeq hit fifty off the fifth ball of the 18th over, hitting four fours and three sixes off 28 balls. Mushfiqur hit boundary to grab his fifty and the team reached the port of victory. He had four fours and a six in his 53-run innings.
Soumya played a great innings earlier as he scored 67 runs off to 50 balls with 6 boundaries and 2 sixes. He scored his second consecutive half-century in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
Leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob picked up two wickets for only 19. Mushfiqur Rahim was named player of the match.
