AAB joins hands with MTB for girls’ education

ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) signed an MoU with Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. (MTB) under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme to fund the educational expenses of 86 female students residing in ‘Happy Home’, a centre, established by AAB in Mohammadpur, Dhaka to help underprivileged girls. 

This signing ceremony took place on Thursday at AAB country office in Dhaka. 

Farah Kabir, Country Director, ActionAid Bangladesh; Maruf Shehab, Head of Fundraising of ActionAid Bangladesh and other officials of AAB were present at the MoU signing ceremony. 

From MTB, Azam Khan, Head of Communications Department (MCD) & Senior Vice President (SVP) and other officials were present.

 To address the needs of the street children of Dhaka, ActionAid Bangladesh established the Happy Homes programme in 2006. Initially, it was in five separate homes at five locations of Dhaka, providing 150 girls aged 7-18 who had been living on the streets with shelter and education.
