With only a day or two left till Eid, the whole country is gearing up to celebrate the biggest Islamic festival of the year. Some have left on buses, some on trains and some on launches to enjoy a wonderful time with their beloved and dearest ones. Others are busy with last minute shopping and preparations for the big day.
Eid-ul-Fitr is a joyous occasion to celebrate our month-long devotion to Islamic teachings. It is a festival of togetherness and love. Families and friends join together to celebrate the occasion. The day is spent eating delicious food, visiting relatives and watching Eid dramas. The tenets of Ramadan are honesty and integrity to your fellow human beings. While majority of us have practiced abstention in this month, we must also pressurize traders and big businesses to maintain quality of the products they are selling. This is especially true of traders selling food, as contamination and price hike have been plaguing the markets for ages.
We must continue to be the best versions of ourselves in the coming months. Helping others and showing compassion to each and every living being is central to faith of Islam. We must keep these in mind as Ramadan ends. We must not judge others in our eagerness to achieve spirituality. Ramadan teaches us patience and kindness. When we are fasting we try to avoid conflicts. But we should try to do that every day of the year, not just for the month of Ramadan. During this month, everyone is on their best behavior. This just goes to show that we can change for the better, we simply need to try a little harder.
We must also remember to foster communal harmony. We must respect the views of people from different religions and ethnicities. Protecting our minorities must be our prime concern. The bliss of Eid should be shared with our non-Muslim brothers and sisters as well. Eid Mubarak to all our readers and well-wishers. May your days be filled with peace, happiness and prosperity. Celebrate this blessed holiday with your loved ones and help spread joy with those around you.
