The series begins with a lonely place, in the early hours of the morning with a car that is seen parked randomly A Panditji is seen walking along a muddy path with a lantern, he takes a peek at the car and drives away and a dead body of a girl is seen nearby.

In a police station a police officer is seen writing a General Diary (GD) only after he has finished eating. He seems to be writing a detailed report with occasional advice and sympathy for the person he has come to report. An old man is seen sitting restlessly and uncontrollably crying in front of the police inspector. His eyes fall on the newspaper where he sees a picture of a girl and again breaks down crying and heartbroken, unconscious of his surroundings. He seems uncomfortable and distraught. A Sinful Story is India’s first silent mini series. It has 3 episodes. Religion, Duty and Works. The last episode showed a connection between the 3 episodes which will leave the viewers with goosebumps.

In the directors quote “As a filmmaker I always do creative, challenging, award winning and trending films. For example India’s first horror mini series, Calcutta’s first sitcom. Now I am back to my favorite genre which is a thriller mini series under my production company Unity Pictures. Which is India’s first silent mini series.

I thank my producer Maithrayi Dey who gave me this opportunity to show my mini series to the global audience. This mini series is conceptualized by Tuhin Dasgupta, cinematographer of this series and written and scripted by me.

Of course it’s going to have a huge impact I have selected only 3 artists. Ashish Pathak and Riddhiman Khan who are regular faces of Bengali daily soaps and lastly Sayantani Mukherjee who is a new face in the series.
