Through her inimitable leadership and humanity, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has become the symbol of trust of 17 crore people of Bangladesh. Her leadership and perseverance are shining as a beacon of hope for the people of the country in the dark times of coronavirus pandemic.

Sheikh Hasina has been leading the present ruling Awami League for about 40 years since being rewarded the leadership of the party through a council in her absence in the month of February, 1981.

In her long and illustrious journey in politics, she has received countless accolades at home and abroad. Sheikh Hasina returned home on May 17, 1981, six years after the brutal and tragic assassination of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with most of his family members on 15 August 1975.

Time and again, Sheikh Hasina has

displayed her bravery and indomitable

spirit in  governing the people

Since then, she has worked tirelessly to restore the party to its former glory. She continues to dedicate her work for the people of her beloved country.

Through her tireless efforts, she has not only inspired her party members, but Bangladeshis living at home and abroad.

The leader has faced many obstacles during her journey, but she has never let any of these deter her from reaching her goal. She had to accept imprisonment and witness death from a close distance many times.

In 2004, Sheikh Hasina narrowly escaped death in a grenade attack on 21 August. She sustained serious injuries in the incident. Despite this, the 14 party alliance was formed under the courageous leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

Time and again, Sheikh Hasina has displayed her bravery and indomitable spirit in governing the people.

We the people of Bangladesh are proud to have her as our leader. Undoubtedly, we are a lucky nation as we have the living legend Sheikh Hasina as our honourable prime minister.
