Bangladesh-born Canadian filmmaker Golam Mustofa-directed film titled A Father’s Diary has received prestigious accolades at the Hollywood North Film Awards held at Rivoli Theatre in Toronto, Canada recently.
The film bagged awards in three categories, namely Best Screenplay, Best Costume and Wardrobe and Best Original Score, said a press release.
‘A Father’s Diary allowed me to portray emotions on the canvas, weaving a tapestry of heartfelt moments that will linger in the hearts of audiences. I am absolutely thrilled and proud to have received multiple awards at the Hollywood North Film Awards. The success of the film is a result of the incredible support and hard work of everyone involved in its conception and direction,’ said Golam Mustofa.
A Father’s Diary is based on the story of a South Asian father who finds himself in a difficult situation when dealing with the choices of his daughter and wife. The film had its world premiere at the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival and its UK premiere at the 5th London Bengali Film Festival.
The film won several awards in festivals in the USA, Canada, Singapore and India, and Accolade Global Film Competition in 2021 and also received an honourable mention at the Mumbai International Film Festival.
Golam Mustofa made his directorial debut with the film titled A Drop of Love in 2012, which earned five awards at the American International Film Festival and the Best Dramatic Film Award at the California Film Awards in the USA. Besides, his film titled Message in the Fortune Cookie won the Silver Award at the North American Film Awards.
