The three-day-long (Mar 23-25) ‘9th Sikder Group Independence Day Cup Golf Tournament - 2022 has been held.
The tournament was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan, SBp, SGp, ndc, aflruc, psc, PhD, Chief of General Staff, Bangladesh Army, who was present as the chief guest at Kurmitola Golf Club on Friday morning.
A total of 663 golfers participated in the tournament from all clubs around the country and many from abroad.
The tee-off was witnessed, among others, by Rick Haque Sikder, Chairman, R&R Aviation and R&R Holdings Ltd, Ron Haque Sikder, Managing Director, R&R Aviation and R&R Holdings Ltd, Syed Qamrul Islam Mohon, Director & COO, R&R Aviation and R&R Holdings Ltd, Farid Uddin Khan Rumi, Adviser, R&R Aviation and R&R Holdings Ltd, Sakeb Majlish Khan, Adviser, R&R Aviation Ltd, and Mohammad Salahuddin, Director, R&R Aviation and R&R Holdings Ltd.
Major General Md Zahirul lslam, ndc, psc, GOC and Area Commander, Logistics Area, Dhaka and Vice President, Kurmitola Golf Club, Brigadier General Syed Md Rafiqul lslam, SPP, Club Captain, Kurmitola Golf Club, Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (retd), Chairman, Tournament Committee, Kurmitola Golf Club, Lieutenant Colonel Abu Md Sayedur Rahman (retd), Acting Chief Executive Officer, Kurmitola Golf Club, Lieutenant Colonel Md Anwar Hossain (retd), General Manager, Golf Operations, Kurmitola Golf Club, and other members of the R&R Aviation Ltd and other high officials of Kurmitola Golf Club were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
At the end of the tournament, Ejaz Ahmed was adjudged the winner with Col Md Humayun Rashed as the runner-up. Tahmina Rahman was declared the winner in the female category.
Lieutenant General Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan, Chief of General Staff, Bangladesh Army, is scheduled to give away the prizes to the winners as the chief guest today (Saturday) in the Banquet Hall of Kurmitola Golf Club.
