During the down trend in the daily number of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections and fatality in recent weeks, the recovery rate also rises and currently stands at 95.33 percent in Khulna division.
A total of 1,07,058 COVID-19 patients healed till Monday out of total 1,12,248 infected patients at the recovery rate of 95.33 percent," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Jashim Uddin Talukder told BSS.
The 1,07,058 cured COVID-19 patients include 26,857 in Khulna, 20,809 in Jashore,17,609 in Kushtia, 8,610 in Jhenaidah, 6,979 in Bagerhat, 6,636 in Satkhira, 6,577 in Chuadanga, , 4,801 in Narail, 4,413 in Meherpur and 3,767 in Magura districts.
Health officials said the total number of infected patients climbed to 1,12,308 as 23 new people were reported positive after testing 987 collected samples at three COVID-19 Laboratories in the division in the last 24 hour till Tuesday morning.
Of the newly detected COVID-19 patients, eight each are in Khulna and Kushtia, four in Jashore, two each in Jhenaidah and Khulna, three in Meherpur, two in Bagerhat and one in Narail districts in the division.
The district-wise breakup of the patients stands at 27,884 in Khulna, 21,651 in Jashore, 18,529 in Kushtia, 9,470 in Jhenaidah, 7,127 in Bagerhat, 6888 in Chuadanga, 6,884 in Satkhira, , 4,969 in Narail, 4,748 in Meherpur and 4,153 in Magura districts.
“Among the total 1,12,308 coronavirus infected persons, 17,566 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 1,07,058 have recovered and 3,144 died while the rest are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the division”, Dr. Ferdousi said.
With two more deaths in Jashore and Kushtia, the total number of fatalities now stands at 3,144 in the division.
“The district-wise break-up of the fatalities are at 797 in Khulna, 772 in Kushtia, 496 in Jashore, 266 in Jhenidah, 189 in Chuadanga, 181 in Meherpur, 144 in Bagerhat, 121 in Narail, 90 in Magura and 88 in Satkhira districts in the division”, he added.
