A total of nine people were injured in an attack carried out over land-related dispute in Santhia upazila of Pabna on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in Danga Majhgram village under Khetupara union in the upazila around 2:00pm in the day.

The injured were identified as Rashida Khatun, Abdur Razzak, Shahjahan, Mitul, Asma Khatun, Akash Ali, Manjila Khatun, Fajila Khatun, and the assailant from the other party, Shahin.

Riaz Uddin filed a formal complaint with the Sathia police station in connection with this incident, naming 12 individuals and including an additional 10 to 12 unidentified suspects.

The complaint said a dispute arose between Riaz and his associates regarding tree cutting involving Barek, Hai, and Shahin. Since the issue was among their own partners, the Sathia police planned to mediate the situation and visited the house on Tuesday noon. However, shortly after the police left, a group led by Barek, Hai, and Shahin attacked Riaz's house and injured several people, including women.

Officer-in-Charge of Santhia police station Saidur Rahman said legal actions will be taken after investigation.
