9-day long 20th ‘DIFF’ begins on Jan 15

The 20th ‘Dhaka International Film Festival’ (DIFF) is going to be held from January 15 to January 23 under the slogan “Aesthetic Film, Thoughtful Audience, Enlightened Society” at the initiative of Rainbow Chalachithra Sangsad. 

Rainbow Chalachithra Sangsad has been organising ‘Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF)’ for 30 years since 1992. A total of 225 films from 70 countries, including Bangladesh, will be screened at the Women’s Film Session.

Films will be screened at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library in the capital, Poet Sufia Kamal and the main auditorium of the National Museum, Chitrashala of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Dance Hall Auditorium and Nandan Theater (Open Stage), Oliyas Froyez Auditorium and Star Cineplex.

During the festival, eminent film personalities of the country including internationally renowned filmmakers, critics, journalists, dignitaries of embassies of different countries, members of Rainbow Chalachithra Sangsad and other film sangsads will take part in the festival and share their experiences with the audience.

As part of the festival, the ‘8th Dhaka International Women Filmmakers Conference’ will be held on the role of women in film. The conference will be held on the second floor of Samson Lounge of Dhaka Club from January 16 to 17 from 9 am to 5 pm.

A press conference has been organized on the second floor of Samson Lounge of Dhaka Club on Thursday (January 13) at 12 pm to showcase the grandeur and organization of this 9-day long festival. In this, the overall aspect of organising the festival will be highlighted in front of the media.
