A 9-day book fair titled ‘Amar Ekushey Book Fair’ began at Bogura Government Azizul Haque College premises on Thursday and will continue till February 21. Students are happy and excited as the book fair re-opened following a two-year gap.
President of District Awami League unit Mujibur Rahman Majnu inaugurated the book fair marking ‘Mujib Barsho’ and International Mother Language Day. After the inauguration, a discussion meeting was held at the college's muktamanch.
The meeting was presided over by Principal Prof. Shahjahan Ali. Among others convener of the book fair committee, Vice-Principal Prof. Md. Fazlul Haque, Joint General Secretary of District AL unit T Zaman Niketa, AKM Asadur Rahman Dulu and Treasurer of the College Masudur Rahman Milan spoke at the meeting.
New publications by famous authors, children’s books and books of story and poetry are available at 28 stalls in the book fair. Atiqur Rahman, a student of the Department of English, the student-teacher relationship becomes closer through this fair, so he is thankful that the fair re-opened.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Bogura Sadar Circle Sanatan Chakraborty said the entire book fair is covered in security sheets and enough number of police members are working at the fair every day.
