The mobile court of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has fined nine businesses establishments for increasing the number of shops on the sidewalk and placing goods on the sidewalk in front of the shops.
At that time, a total of fine taka 37,000 was collected from the shops.
Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelly and Special Magistrate (Joint District and Sessions Judge) Jahanara Ferdous conducted the operation at the initiative of Chittagong City Corporation.
About 30 businesses on both sides of Jubilee Road from Love lane Junction to Enayet Bazar Junction in the city were fined on Tuesday afternoon.
During the operation, the extended part of the shop was evicted and the goods were removed.
The CCC sources said that operation against such illegal activities would continue. New CCC Administrator is committed to make a nice city.
