Results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were published yesterday (Wednesday) which shows a total of 85.95 percent students passed.
The pass rate of HSC was 84.31 percent, madrasa examinations 92.56 percent and vocational exams 94.41 percent.
In terms of pass rate in higher secondary, Comilla has topped the nine General Education Boards and Dhaka Education Board is first in terms of obtaining GPA-5.
Education Minister Dipu Moni along with the chairmen of all the education boards handed over the copy of the examination results to the Prime Minister at Chameli Hall of the Prime Minister's Office at around 11:30 AM at a ceremony at the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday.
The HSC and equivalent examinations, which were delayed due to various reasons, started on November 6 last year. A total of 12 lakh three thousand 407 students participated in nine General Education Boards, Madrasah Boards and Technical Boards.
This year, HSC and equivalent examinations were conducted in 2,649 centers and 9,181 institutions. The average pass rate in this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations is 85.95 percent. This time one lakh 76 thousand 282 students got GPA-5.
According to the announced results, among the 9 general education boards, the pass rate in Dhaka Board is 87.83 percent, 62 thousand 421 students got GPA 5. Rajshahi Board pass rate is 81.59 percent, 21 thousand 855 students got GPA 5.
Comilla board pass rate is 90.7 percent where 14 thousand 991 students got GPA 5. Pass rate in Sylhet board is 81.4 percent where 4 thousand 871 people got GPA 5. In Barisal board pass rate is 86.95 percent, where 7 thousand 386 students got GPA 5.
Chittagong Board pass rate is 78.76 percent where 12 thousand 670 students got GPA 5. Pass rate in Jessore board is 83.9 percent where 18 thousand 706 students got GPA 5. Dinajpur board pass rate is 79.06 percent where 11 thousand 830 students got GPA 5. The pass rate in Mymensingh Board is 77.03 percent where 7 thousand 179 people got GPA 5.
Apart from this, 91.2 percent students passed the technical board where 7 thousand 105 students got GPA 5 in this board.
The pass rate in Madrasa Board is 92.56 percent. 9 thousand 423 students got GPA 5. As a result of HSC and equivalent results, the pass rate of boy’s is 84.53 percent, and 87.48 percent for girls’ students. Compared to last year, the number of students who obtained GPA-5 has decreased by 12 thousand 887 people.
Education Minister Dipu Moni presented the details of this year's HSC results in a press conference at the International Mother Language Institute on Wednesday. Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, Secretary of Education, Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Education Department and other officials of various boards were also present.
