The 814th annual Urs, marking the passing of Hazrat Shah Sufi Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Hasan Sanjeri Summa Ajmeri (RA), was observed yesterday, Friday, at the Mia Saheb Maidan in Lakshmi Bazar, Old Dhaka. The day-long event was marked by religious fervor and drew a large number of devotees and followers from across the country and abroad.
Following the Maghrib prayers, a discussion session was organized to highlight the life, spiritual ideals, and humanitarian works of the saint. The session was presided over and conducted by the 9th Gaddinshin Pir, Alhaj Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Ahmadur Rahim (Damat Barakatuhum).
In his address, he stated that the lessons of humanism, tolerance, and spiritual purification taught by Khwaja Garib-e-Nawaz (RA) remain essential for the development of modern society.
The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Haji Dr. Mohammad Ishtiaq Sajjadur Rahman, Hafez Md. Faruk, and Hafez Mohammad Rahmatullah. Keynote speeches were delivered by Mufti Qari Abdur Rahman Belali, Khatib of Shah Saheb Bari Jame Mosque, and other prominent Islamic scholars.
The formalities concluded with a Milad and Dua Mahfil, led by Haji Syed Barkatullah Badruddin, followed by the Akheri Munajat (final prayer) and the distribution of Tabarruk among the attendees.
