81.05 pc covid-19 patients get cured in Khulna

During the downtrend in the daily number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in recent days, the recovery rate also rises and currently stands at 81.05 percent in Khulna division, reports BSS.

“A total of 82,516 COVID-19 healed till 8.00 am on Wednesday out of total 101,802 infected patients with the recovery rate of 81.05 percent,” Divisional Director (Health) in Khulna division Dr Jashim Uddin Howlader told BSS.

Among the recovered patients, 20,759 are in Khulna, 17,593 in Jashore 12,862 in Kushtia, 6,195 in Bagerhat, 5,658 in Jhenaidah, 5,052 in Satkhira, 4,835 in Chuadanga, 3,647 in Meherpur, 3,572 in Narail and 2,343 in Magura districts.

Talking to BSS, Assistant Director (Health) Dr. Ferdoushi Akter said 1,582 more COVID-19 infected patients recovered in last 24 hours till today morning raising the total number to 82,516 in all ten districts of the division.

Health officials said the total number of infected patients climbed to 1,01802 as 640 new people were reported positive after testing 1,865 collected samples at COVID-19 laboratories  in Khulna and other samples were collected from two PCR labs in the division last 24 hours till today's morning.

Of the newly detected COVID-19 patients, 180 are in Kushtia, 136 in Khulna, 97 in Jashore, 38 in Magura, 37 in Satkhira, 31 each in Chuadanga, Jhenidah and Meherpur, 30 in Bagerhat and 29 in Narail districts in the division.

Dr Ferdousi  said all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been, 1,02,373 brought under necessary treatment others are being monitored in isolation units in 14 different hospitals under institutional supervision and another 84,495 were released.

The district-wise break up of the patients stands at 25,388 in Khulna, 20,112, in Jashore, 16,294 in Kushtia, 8,311 in Jhenaidah, 6,611 in Bagerhat, 6,415 in Chuadanga, 6212 in Satkhira, 4,487 in Narail, 4,328 in Meherpur and 3,644 in Magura districts.

Of the 20 more death, seven in Khulna, five in Jashore, three in Meherpur, two each in Jhenidah and Kustia, and one in Magura, the total number of fatalities now reached 2726 in the division.

“The district-wise break-up of the fatalities remains at 692 in Khulna, 650 in Kushtia, 408 in Jashore, 235 in Jhenidah, 180 in Chuadanga, 163 in Meherpur, 133 in Bagerhat, 100 in Narail, 86 in Satkhira and 79 in Magura districts in the division”, she added.

Currently, the fatality rate among the total 1,01802 Covid-19 patients stand at little over 2.68 percent in the division.
