80 international flights cancelled at Chattogram Airport

Due to the ongoing war situation in the Middle East, several international flights operating from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram have been cancelled due to instability at the airfields of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Doha. 12 more international flights were cancelled on Saturday. With this, a total of 80 international flights have been cancelled since February 28.

Airport Public Relations Officer Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil confirmed the matter.

According to airport sources, 1 arrival and 2 departure flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from the Middle East have been cancelled. In addition, 2 arrival and 2 departure flights of Air Arabia have been cancelled. 1 arrival and 2 departure flights of US-Bangla Airlines have been cancelled. Similarly, 1 arrival and 1 departure flight of Salam Air have also been cancelled.

 However, some international flights have been operated normally. Salam Air's OV-401 flight landed in Chittagong from Muscat and the same airline's OV-402 flight departed from Chittagong for Muscat.

On the other hand, Biman Bangladesh Airlines' BG-138 (Madina-Chattogram) and BG-122 (Muscat-Chattogram) flights have been operated as per the scheduled schedule.

Public Relations Officer Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil said, "A total of 80 international flights have been canceled so far, including today's 12 canceled flights, due to the ongoing war situation in the Middle East since February 28. The flight schedule may change until the situation normalizes."

He advised passengers to contact the concerned airline before traveling to get the latest flight information.
