In the murder case of retired Major Sinha Rashed, former bodyguard of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the withdrawn Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradip Kumar of Takenaf Thana was shown arrested in the case after he had surrendered and then he was produced before the court.
He along with others was sent to jail by the order of the court. When the news spread that the criminals were produced before the court, numerous people crowded the court premises.
Earlier Prodip Kumar Das in order to surrender to the court started in police custody from Chattogram for Cox’s Bazar. O C Padip one of the number of criminals in the much talked murder case of former Major Shinha surrendered to the court through police after 14 hours of issuing the warrant of arrest by the court against 9 criminals including the OC himself.
The surrendered criminals are: Pradip Kumar Das withdrawn OC; Liaqat Hossain inspector in-charge of Bhasata check post; Nandolal Rakhit subinspector; Safanur Karim constable; Kamal Hossain constable; Abdullah Al-Mamoon constable; Liton Miah ASI; Tutul ASI and Mohammad Mustafa constable.
Sharmin Shahariar Ferdous, the sister of the deceased Sinha filed the murder case with the Teknaf Judicial Magistrate Court against 9 criminals including O C Pradip Kumar on Tuesday
noon (August 5).
It may be mentioned here that Shinha was killed by police with bullet at Shamlapur Check post in Baharchhara union of Cox’s Bazar-Takfaf Meril Drive on the night of 31st July.
About Padip Kumar Das it may be broached that he joined the Taknaf Model Thana as O C in 2018. He was given the Bangladesh Police awards in 2019. Earlier he received more than once
the President Police Medal (PPM).
