8 police constables indicted in Jashore

Charge sheet has been filed against eight police constables in Jashore for taking a police job by showing fake freedom fighter's certificate. 

Investigating Officer of the case of Sub-inspector (SI) of Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station Sekendar Abu Jafar submitted the charge sheet to the court on Sunday. The was filed against them on December 30 last year.

The accused are Rana Hasan, son of Saifur Rahman of Ghop area of Jashore town, Bipod Singh, son of Sadhan Singh of Sura village of Sadar upazila, Sujal Singh, son of Kumaresh Singh, Amit Kumar Biswas, son of Ajit Kumar Biswas of Narsinghokathi village, Ashikur Rahman, son of Basharat Hossain of Andalpota village, Bappi Mahmud, son of Ahad Ali of the Saitkhali village, Moniruzzaman, son of Mozammel Haque of Jagannathpur village of Chaugachha upazila and Alim Uddin, son of Abdus Sattar Biswas of Gaurinathpur village of Jashore district.

According to the court sources, the notification of appointment of constables was published on January 26 in 2014. Recruitment test was held on December 3 in 2015 at Jashore Police Lines. The accused were finally elected as constables in FF quota. 

Later, it had been proved that the certificates of the freedom fighters given by those eight people were fake. 

After receiving the report, on December 30 in 2019, Mashiur Rahman, ROI Inspector of Jashore Police Reserve Office, filed a case against them on the recommendation of the Ministry. 

After investigating the case, the investigating officer submitted the charge sheet to the court as the allegation of forgery of the liberation war certificate was found to be fake. Apart from accused Moniruzzaman and Ashikur Rahman, others have been shown as fugitives in the charge sheet.
