7th int’l flight safety seminar 2024 begins in Dhaka

A three-day International Flight Safety Seminar, jointly organised by the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), kicked off on Monday at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.

Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, inaugurated the seminar as the Chief Guest. 

The seminar's primary goal is to exchange insights and experiences on flight safety, focusing on risk reduction, safe flight planning, and enhancing overall aviation safety standards.

With the theme, ‘Promoting Flight Safety by Embracing Technological Advancements’, the event aims to emphasise the importance of adopting new technologies to improve flight safety practices.

The Chief Guest expressed his gratitude to the Bangladesh Air Force and CAAB for hosting this significant international event. He also extended his thanks to the representatives from allied air forces and aviation professionals from Bangladesh for their participation.

In addition to the BAF and CAAB, air force representatives from 13 countries, including Bahrain, China, Kenya, Indonesia, Myanmar, Maldives, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the USA, and Zimbabwe, are attending the seminar.

Other participants include representatives from the Ministry of Defense, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Armed Forces Division (AFD), Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), and various civil airlines of Bangladesh. The seminar will conclude on Wednesday.
