78.64 pc pass HSC, equivalent exams

The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of the year of 2023 was published on Sunday.

The combined pass rate – across 11 education boards – of the 2023 HSC and equivalent exams is 78.64 percent.

As per the details, a total of 13,59,342 students were registered for the HSC and equivalent exams. Of them, 6,88,887 are male and 6,70,455 are female students.

This marks a 7.31 percent drop compared to 2022’s combined pass rate of 85.95 percent.

A total of 10,67,852 candidates passed the exams in all the education boards.

The pass rate of the HSC examination on nine general education boards stands at 75.9 percent.

Among the nine education boards, the pass rate in Dhaka Board stands at 79.44 percent. The pass rate in Chattogram Board is 74.45 percent while for Rajshahi Board the pass rate stands at 78.46 percent.

Meanwhile, 73.4 percent students passed in Sylhet Board. The pass rate is 80.65 percent in Barishal, 75.39 percent in Cumilla, 70.44 percent in Mymensingh, 70.44 percent in Dinajpur, and 69.88 percent in Jashore boards.

Education Minister Dipu Moni handed over the result summary to the prime minister earlier this morning.

Later, chairmen of different education boards handed over the results of their respective boards to the PM.

This year, a total of 13,74,488 students sat for HSC and equivalent exams from August 17 to September 25. Of them, 698,135 are boys, and 676,353 are girls.

Number of GPA-5 falls by almost 50%

A total of 92,0365 students have received GPA-5 in 2023 HSC and equivalent exams – an almost 50 percent decline compared to 2022. In 2022, a total of 176,282 students obtained GPA-5.

Education Minister Dipu Moni handed over the result summary to the prime minister earlier this morning.

Later, chairmen of different education boards handed over the results of their respective boards to the PM.

This year, a total of 13,74,488 students sat for HSC and equivalent exams from August 17 to September 25. Of them, 698,135 are boys, and 676,353 are girls.

Girls ahead of boys in HSC pass rate, GPA-5

Girls outshined boys in the HSC and equivalent exams this year too with 80.57% girls passing the exams as against 76.76% boys.

Girls showed their brilliance in achieving highest Grade Point Average GPA-5 as girls secured 49,365 GPA-5 against boys’ 43,230.

The number of boys who appeared for the exams was high compared to the girls this year. A total of 6, 98,135 boys and 6, 76,353 girls sat for the exams under 11 education boards across the country.

This year a total of 13, 74,488 students sat for HSC and equivalent exams from August 17 to September 25.

A total of 10, 67, 852 students passed the exams and the results were handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni in the morning.

The overall pass rate was 85.95 last year but this year it stood at 78.64 percent, a decline by 3.81 percent.

953 insts achieve 100 % success

A total of 953 educational institutions achieved 100 percent pass rate in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations-2023 across the country this year.

Of those, 46 institutions are from Dhaka Board, 37 from Rajshahi, 17 from Cumilla, 10 from Jashore, 12 from Chattagram, 13 from Barishal, 2 from Sylhet, 13 from Dinajpur and 2 from Mymensingh while the number of hundred percent successful institutions under Madrasa Board is 661 and 140 in Technical Education Board. 

A total of 1,330 educational institutions achieved 100 percent pass in the HSC and its equivalent exams last year.

42 edn insts see zero pass rate

Not a single student passed from 42 educational institutions across the country in the 2023 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, according to the results published on Sunday.

However, the pass rate has decreased slightly this year compared to last year.

The number of educational institutions with zero percent pass rate last year was 50.

303 overseas students pass in HSC exams

As many as 303 students of eight overseas centres came out successful in the HSC examinations-2023 with 98.39 percent pass rate.

A total of 321 students appeared in the examinations from the overseas centres.

Among the 13, 57,915 examinees, 10, 67,852 students have been successful in the HSC and equivalent examinations.

Before the publicity of the result, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni and chairmen of all education boards handed over the summery of the results was handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury was present at the time.

Later Dr Dipu Moni held a press conference at the International Mother Language Institute at Segunbagicha in the capital in the afternoon when she announced the details of the results.

Moreover, those candidates yet did not get their result they can see their results online or through sending SMS to 16222.

To get the results under general boards through SMS, candidates have to type HSC, the first three letters of the board name, followed by the candidate's roll number and the year, and send it to 16222, said a release.

For example, a candidate who sat for this year's exams under the Dhaka board with a roll number of '1000000' will have to send: HSC(space)Dha(space)1000000(space)2023 and send the SMS to 16222.

Likewise, to obtain the Alim results, students need to send text message by typing ALIM [space] MAD [space] Roll Number [space] 2023 and send it to 16222.

For technical board results, the students will have to type HSC [space] Tec [space] Roll Number [space] 2023 and send it to 16222.

Alternatively, the candidates can also get their results from the website http://www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.

Students can download individual result sheet by entering roll and registration numbers.

Educational institutions can also download their results from https://dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd/ by putting in the EIIN number of the institution.
