With the healing of 723 more patients from the Covid-19 on Saturday, the total recovery count in Rajshahi division rose to 1,08,081 on Sunday since the pandemic began in March, 2020.
A total of 248 more people have tested positive for the deadly virus in all eight districts of the division on Sunday, raising the caseload to 1,17,337 so far.
The new positive cases are showing a rising trend compared to the previous day's figure of 164, Dr Habibul
Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of Health, said.
The death toll reached 1,733, including 703 in Bogura, 336 in Rajshahi with 216 in its city and 177 in Natore as one new fatality was reported during the last 24 hours,
he said.
Besides, all the positive cases of Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under treatment while 25,622 were kept in isolation units of different dedicated hospitals for institutional quarantine. Of them, 21,378 have been released.
Meanwhile, 184 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 371 others were released from isolation during the same period.
Of the 248 new infected cases, 49 were detected in Rajshahi, including 36 in its city, followed by 44 in Natore, 43 in Pabna, 33 in Bogura, 28 in Sirajganj, 26 in Chapainawabganj, 17 in Naogaon and eight in Joypurhat districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 33,619 in Rajshahi including 27,645 in its city, 6,426 in Chapainawabganj, 7,650 in Naogaon, 9,628 in Natore, 5,559 in Joypurhat, 24,769 in Bogura, 13,427 in Sirajganj and 16,259 in Pabna districts.
A total of 1,23,777 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10, 2020 to prevent community transmission of the deadly COVID-19.
Of them, 1,19,050 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their quarantine.
