At least 72 houses were burnt in a fire broke out in Thakurgaon's Sadar upazila on Tuesday.
The incident happened at night at Jhargaon village under the upazila.
Atwari Fire Service Team Leader Kamal Hossain said it seemed that the fire originated at night from coil or cowshed Bhuti(Mosquito repellent smoke). Residential houses, cowsheds, hay sheds and kitchens of total 31 families were gutted in the fire.
Being informed, immediately we controlled the fire with the help of locals. The extent of the damage has not yet been determined'', he added.
Local UP chairman Roman Badshah said that nothing is left except the wearing clothes of the victims. The upazila administration assured to send blankets and food.
