A mobile court of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company conducted drives at the Gazipur city and cut as many as 700 illegal gas connection.
Gazipur Executive Magistrate Masudur Rahman led the mobile court.
Gas connections of 200 houses at 2 spots in Raushan Road area of the city and 500 houses illegally installed at 4 spots in Mogarkhal and SharifpurKonapara areas were cut off.
On the other hand, a fine of Tk 50,000 was imposed on Messrs. Brothers and Sisters Bakery in Raushan Road area for using gas in unauthorized additional installations.
Anisur Rahman, manager of Messrs. Emma Dry Process, a washing factory in Kathora area of Board Bazar in Gazipur metropolitan area, was sentenced to 15 days in jail on charges of illegal gas connection and use at the time.
A total of 14 people were fined Tk 5.31 lakh the factory was sealed.
Titas Gas (Jobia-Joydevpur) Engineer. According to SurujAlam, Titas Gas raided two washing factories, a bakery and 11 houses in Gazipur metropolis from 11 am to 11 pm on Tuesday.
In addition, Messrs. Perfect Washing Ltd., located in the Shaheed Siddique Road area of Board Bazar, has been fined Tk 60,000 for using gas in an unauthorized gas compressor and booster and illegally interfering in the house line without approval.
