70,000 Yaba pills seized in St. Martin’s

Bangladesh Coast Guard has arrested five Myanmar nationals and seized a big consignment of Yaba pills from their possession on Chhera Dwip adjacent to St. Martin’s Island on Friday. 

A total of 70,000 pieces of contraband Yaba pills were seized during the special operation of Coast Guard.

Media Officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard Lieutenant Khandakar Munim Toqir said that Members of Coast Guard led by Lieutenant Sad Mohammad Tayem conducted a special drive in St. Martin’s Island area. During the drive, Coast Guard found a team of suspicious people at Chhera Dwip area. After searching them, a couple of bags full of Yaba pills were found. The arrestees were identified as Myanmar nationals, a press release.  

A total of 70,000 Yaba pills were seized during the drive. The arrestees with the seized pills were handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station.

Officials of Coast Guard in a press release said that such drives will be continued to curb the wrongdoings, keep people safe from the robbers, control drug peddling and maintain peace in the area.
