Newly elected chairmen of six union parishads(UPs) under Palashbari upazila and a chairman of Ramchandrapur UP of Sadar upazila in the district took oath amid much enthusiasm on Thursday.
Gaibandha deputy commissioner Abdul Matin administered the oath to the elected UP chairmen at a function at the conference room of the deputy commissioner.
Deputy director of Local Government here Rokhsana Begum and Palashbari UNO Kamruzzaman Nayan were present at the event, among others.
DC Abdul Matin in his speeches urged the newly elected representatives to be more serious and sincere in discharging their professional duties to attain the cherished goals of the government to build a happy prosperous and developed country by 2041.
Those who took oath as UP chairmen are Md. Towhidul Islam from Mohodipur union, Abdul Wahab from Monohorpur union, Mostafizur Rahman from Betkapa union, Md. Mahbubur Mondal from Pabnapur union, Towfiqul Amin Mondal Titoo from Hossainpur union, Md. Kabir Hossain Zahangir Horinatyhpur Union under Palasbari upazila and Mosabbir Hossain from Ramchandrapur Union of Sadar Upazila.
