7,300 farmers of Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidh are receiving seeds and fertilizers as incentives in Boro season. The department of agriculture extension (DAE) has been distributing the same among the farmers for maximum utilization of their limited land and benefits the farmers involved in paddy farming.
Of them 2,700 Boro farmers are receiving ten kilogram of Dye amonium phosphate (DAP and Muriate of Potash (MoP) each and five kilogram of high yielding variety (HYV) seeds. Remaining 6,600 Boro farmers are rece2iving two kilograms of hybrid seeds in the season.
Upazila agriculture officer (UAO) in Shailkupa Anisuzzaman Khan said they have been distributing the seeds and fertilizers as incentives among the farmers free of cost so that each and every farmer could ensure maximum utilization of their land. It will also benefit them financially, UAO said.
The DAE official said the farmers have been facing troubles when the prices of fertilizers, pesticides, seeds and other agriculture equipments went high in recent days.
The incentives will ease the sufferings of the farmers and help strengthen their socio-economic state partially. All the field level DAE officials were advised to stand by the farmers in utilizing the incentives for their interest, UAO said.
