Gazipur Zila Parishad distributed cheques of Tk 73,85000 as scholarship among 691 meritorious students of different educational Institutions at Rothkhola Bangataj Auditorium in Gazipur city on Saturday.
Zila Parishad Chairman Akteruzzaman distributed the cheques as Chief Guest.
Chief Executive Officer of Gazipur Zila Parishad Jamil Ahmed presided over the meeting.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner SM Tariqul Islam, Superintendent of Police Shamsunnahar, Zila Parishad Panel Chairman SM Moksed Alam, Sadar Upazila Chairman Rina Parveen, Gazipur Metropolitan Awami League Joint Secretary Ataullah Mandal, Zila Parishad members: Abu Hanif, Taslima Rahman Lovely, Rashida Khandaker, Mohammad Abul Khayer, Dilruba Fawzia and Asma Khatun, were also present.
Chief Guest Akhtaruzzaman in his speech said “To make the meritorious students inspired and trained up, we provide them scholarship money and arrange different training programmes for them’.
A total of 12,419 students got training in different categories. Of them, 3160 students got training in computer, 1140 in out sourcing, 1924 in driving, 2280 in Ready Made Garments, 1625 in leather technology, 960 in Batique, 970 in honey cultivation, 215 in electric and 215 in welding.
