Six hundred seventy five ultra poor women have been given Tk 1 thousand 5 hundred per head as humanity assistant by NGO BRAC in Magura district. In the situation of corona virus spread, they received the aid maintaining safe social distance staying there home Sunday.
Shafiqul Islam, district coordinator of BRAC Magura, said the families have been received the money to provide food for their own family in this Corona situation. Magura Deputy Commissioner Ashraful Alam inaugurated the program in the morning distributing assistance among two such persons in his office. Later, the rest of money was delivered from house to house.
The total distributed amount is Tk 10 lakh 12 thousand 5 hundred. Shafiqul Islam said these poor families have already been given capital to invest in livestock and small busine sses under income generating programs.
