A total of 650 distressed and helpless people were given blankets to save them from biting cold in Rajshahi city.
District administration in assistance with steel brand KSRM distributed the blankets at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) on Sunday afternoon. DC Abdul Jalil accompanied by Additional DC Kollyan Chowdhury and District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Salahuddin Al Wadud handed over the blankets. Abdul Jalil expressed gratitude to the KSRM authorities for standing beside the cold-stricken people, hoping that their effort will continue in the days to come.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly for the development of the people, particularly the helpless and poor.
Jalil urged the rich people, including corporate bodies and volunteer organizations, to extend their helping hands to lessen the sufferings of the cold-hit people.
