The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in 24 hours till 6:00 am on Sunday (July 9) detained 63 people for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
On information, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP statement issued on Sunday.
They seized 11,366 pieces of Yaba tablets, 8.41kg of hemp, 408.3gm of 95 puria of heroin and 100 pieces of injectable drugs from their possessions, the statement said.
According to the DMP statement, a total of 43 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
